Frequently Asked Questions

Social Media Optimization

In today's age of Social Media, a lot of traffic is driven by Social Shares. Hence, we built ClipMyDeals with the idea that you should be able to control how your pages look on Social Media (the title, description & images) rather than leaving it to Facebook, Twitter, etc. to decide how it should look. ClipMyDeals uses Social Media Metatags and OpenGraph MetaTags to control the display of shared pages.

Note: If you are using any 3rd party plugin for SMO or SEO, it can create duplicate social meta tags. If you want to enable Social Media tags by ClipMyDeals, disable it in other plugins. And vice versa.

Settings

To manage Social Media Optimization, go to WordPress > Appearance > Customize > Social Media Optimization. Tick the option to Enable.

Site Description
By default, ClipMyDeals uses descriptions from coupons, blog posts, stores and categories on shared posts. However, in case any of these do not have a description, then you can set a default description here that will get shared.

Banner
By default, ClipMyDeals uses images/banners from coupons, blog posts, stores and categories on shared posts. However, in case any of these do not have an image/banner, then you can set a default image here that will get shared.

Facebook App ID
If you want to link Domain Insights to an app rather than a user, you will need to enter the Facebook App ID here. You can then use these Analytics to see how people use your app, measure retention, track conversion and optimize for growth. See Facebook for Developers for more details.

Facebook Admins
Here, you can enter a comma-separated list of Facebook Profile IDs that are Admin of your Facebook Page. This gives information about the admins of the shared page.

Twitter Page
Enter your website's official Twitter handle here (including the @ sign) to let Twitter know the source of the shared page.

Twitter Author
Enter your personal Twitter handle here (including the @ sign) to let Twitter know the author of the shared page.

Google Plus Publisher
Enter the URL of your Google Plus Page here to mark it as the author of the web-page being shared.

Easy Sharing of Offers

Once you enable Social Media Optimization and also allow Coupon to have their individual pages (see here), you will be able to see Facebook, Google & Twitter Share buttons on your "All Coupons" page. Simply click on the button in front of the coupon you want to share, and a pop-up will open for you. If required, select the page/profile on which you want to share it.
